Lilies of the Garden
The Calla Lilies are blooming…
.
.
…which means purity, innocence, faith, youth, rebirth, amiability, and/or love for 100 years!
.
.
The Lilies-of-the-Valley are blooming too…
.
.
The modest Rose puts forth a thorn:
The humble Sheep, a threatning horn:
While the Lilly white, shall in Love delight,
Nor a thorn nor a threat stain her beauty bright.
William Blake, 1794

Beautiful!
I am specially pleased that the Lilies of the Valley are growing happily out of their pot!
Isn’t it wonderful that beauty comes forth in so many sizes and shapes? You help us appreciate the big and small.
It is quite amazing to us that both these flowers are called Lilies! We love them both…whatever their name.
Spring continues to delight us! as does Vanilla!!
Vanilla-Valentina thinks the Lilies are her favourite flower at the moment…but she may change her mind when she sees the bleeding hearts!
I agree with Vanilla-Valentina- I think that Lily of the Valley are one of the most charming flowers ever. Your Calla is incredibly beautiful!
The Calla Lilies were in the garden when we moved in…much has changed since then, but the Calla Lilies were so beautiful we were determined to keep them if possible throughout the recent house and garden renovations. My mother carried Calla Lilies at her wedding.
