Lilies of the Garden

Calla Lily

The Calla Lilies are blooming…

.

.

Big

…which means purity, innocence, faith, youth, rebirth, amiability, and/or love for 100 years!

Lily-of-the-Valley

The Lilies-of-the-Valley are blooming too…

.

.

Small

The modest Rose puts forth a thorn:
The humble Sheep, a threatning horn:
While the Lilly white, shall in Love delight,
Nor a thorn nor a threat stain her beauty bright.

William Blake, 1794

    • The Calla Lilies were in the garden when we moved in…much has changed since then, but the Calla Lilies were so beautiful we were determined to keep them if possible throughout the recent house and garden renovations. My mother carried Calla Lilies at her wedding.
