Little Boats

Fold

Tipsy and Vanilla took a page out of a very old paperback with brittle paper, missing pages and a cracked spine…

.

.

Hat

…and made an Admiral’s Bicorn Hat!

.

.

Boat!

With a few more folds, they made it into a paper boat!

.

.

Paper Boats

Tipsy and Vanilla went down to the beach…

.

.

Launch

…where they met up with Gráinne…

.

.

Aweigh

…and they all launched their boats into a tide pool!

.

.

Steer

The tide was coming in…

.

.

Wild Blue

…but the paper boats found their way to the open water…

.

.

Yonder

…and the yacht followed…

.

.

Sailboat

…but Gráinne got it back so she can sail it another day!

  1. How do you think up these adorable stories? I am always mesmerized with your stories by the sea. I sometimes have to remind myself that your girls are wooden lifeforms and not flesh and blood lifeforms. I want to jump right through my computer and join in the fun with them.

    • Gráinne started it! She wanted to take her yacht out to a tide pool, and Tipsy and Vanilla thought it sounded fun. They didn’t have fancy boats to sail, but they found a way…and I am glad you could come on our little adventure, it is much more fun with company!

  2. I agree with Mary Anne…there is so much freedom in the little woodens. It does make one want to “jump right through…and join in the fun with them.” In the meantime, thank you for letting us accompany them in their jaunts.

  3. oh charming….reminded me of days with my siblings floating “boats” on the farm pond! Some of them were less then sea worthy. Tipsy and Vanilla could have given us lessons. Fun adventures with the Quimper kids!

    • A paper boat is surprisingly sturdy, at least for a few minutes, or until it gets swamped by a wave! The Hittys have lots of boat fun, living so close to the sea, and Gráinne’s new yacht is her pride and joy!
