Scrap Happy Golden Sweater

Golden dawn

I bought a ball of Gold Marisol Inca yarn so that I could knit a glorious Dragon Touque for Lunar New Year

When the touque was finished, I had most of a ball of yarn leftover, so I knitted a Hitty cardigan for Henrietta. Here she is wearing it in front of my sunrise quilt – the days are mostly grey and dull at the moment, and we needed a little more brightness in our lives!

Blog posts are published on the 15th of the month, and it is always a treat to see what ingenious things people are doing with bits and pieces saved from the scrap heaps! 1. Hitty Henrietta certainly brought sunshine to my gloomy morning, as did her happy sunshiny quilt! I hope the recipient of the wonderful dragon toque loves it. You do such lovely work!

  2. Thank you for bringing golden life to the scrappy threads left from the toque as well as cheery sunshine to accompany this sweet little narrative. May your days be full of sunshine as the days progress. Becky J

  3. It’s a beautiful rich but quiet shade, and it suits her perfectly. Gold can be a terrible colour (anything from custard-skin yellow to stale mustard), but this is refined and elegant.

    • This is a very nice gold…it looks great with that sapphire blue! The guy at the yarn shop claimed there was no gold in the store (he didn’t mention custard skin or stale mustard) but there was this lovely ball of yarn, just exactly perfect for this project!
