Strawberry June
Summer at last – time for Rose to put on her Strawberry Thief dress and apron…
.
.
…carry a punnet out to the strawberry bed…
.
.
…and harvest the strawberries!
.
.
The young human picked raspberries, Thimbleberries and Salmonberries…
.
.
…and they shared a berry feast!
Happy first day of summer to our friends in the Northern hemisphere, and happy winter solstice to those of you who live south of the equator!

Thank you! The turning of the season is coming too soon for me; I love the cool mornings, the lack of insects, the ability to grow beans, the green/gold sunsets and the cane harvest.
We love all seasons, but this summer, (coming after the coolest spring on record here) is very welcome! Berry season is heaven!
“To every season….a time for….”
And we are always so happy when it is time for the berry harvest! Yum!
Happy summer to the Hittys and all their humans.
And to you up the hill, we hope you and the Happy Gang are enjoying the lack of wind, and the warm afternoons!
I always look forward to your strawberry harvest and the lovely strawberry pinafore! Glad the young human was available for berry picking duties.
It’s a very small harvest of very small berries this year, just right for the Hitty-sized punnet…but next year we hope for more deliciousness in the strawberry patch!!!
I haven’t heard of salmonberries or thimbleberries but they look delicious. A very belated Happy Solstice to you too!
