July Apples
A beautiful Saturday morning…
.
.
…after sprinkling, Pip discovered that the apple tree had dropped an apple!
.
.
…but the ones still on the tree are growing…
.
.
…some are still pretty small…
.
.
…this one is growing bigger and bigger…
.
.
…Ginny helped Pip to get the apple into the house…
.
.
…where Jane contemplated apple recipes a month before she expected to have to…
.
.
…and the apple tree went back to growing its seven remaining apples!
.
.

How delighted you humans and little woodens are to have those treasured apples to savor this season. Have fun!
We are excited about the apples, though we were not expecting one in July!
It is very early for an apple but that one looks to be ripe!
It looks ripe to us too…but we haven’t dared cut it open yet. We thought we’d maybe pick the first apple in August, so this was unexpected to us too!
Mmmm… apple pie, apple crumble, apple turnovers, apple cake, apple sauce, apple tea. The Hittys are in for a treat!
So many appley options, Jane is up for for the challenge – though she wasn’t quite ready…the Hittys will enjoy whatever she settles on making, possibly with ice cream as an accompaniment!
Well, of course! And if not ice cream, then at least whipped cream. Or maybe custard. Or butterscotch sauce…
Your garden looks lovely. Are the the little ones hoping Jane bakes them an apple pie?
We love our garden! The colours fade and are replaced with other colours – metamorphosis from blue and white to purple and orange…just so nice to watch and experience…especially with the promise of pie!
I too have one big apple that fell. I had no one to help me though.
We were mystified! It was the biggest one on the tree too. The smallest one looks like it wants to fall off too, we are keeping an eye on it!
