November Evening Stroll
Rain and gloom on a November day turned Henrietta and the Quimper Hitty humans into slugs! Fortunately as the rain slowed down we were motivated to lever out of our chairs and go for an afternoon stroll…

.
…down the path and the steps (past the colourful salmon art)…
.
.
…to the nearby sandy grey beach.
.
.
We clambered around on the logs…
.
.
…and sat for a while, gazing at Buffleheads, Mergansers…
.
.
…Great Blue Herons fishing, and the ubiquitous seagulls!
.
.
Our path home takes us through the Ross Bay Cemetery…

Hitty Henrietta sat for a bit, but the Human couldn’t find a big enough dry spot. We both decided that sitting on logs and park benches was vastly preferable to slugging around at home!

I find it really hard to lever myself out of the chir if the weather is grey and damp or it is dark. That is one advantage of having dogs – they made me go for a walk this morning even though the mist is very thick and §i feel better for it.
I definitely feel better after a walk! Even a grey and rainy one…after all we breathed the fresh air, and saw lovely birds (including an owl, but it was too dark by then to get a photo)!
I’m amazed at the variety of textures and places in your meander that day. Gloom is hard to work through.
The seashore is a place of texture and beauty! We are always glad when we make the effort to visit, and are somewhat abashed that we don’t do so more often…
It might be a gloomy day but the photos are so wonderful and warm!
Thanks! Henrietta chose her favourite sweater, and was happy with the way that it blended in with everything we saw on the walk!
damp and gloomy does have a certain kind of charm but so does spinning beside the fire.
Indoors by the fire is really nice on this kind of damp and dark day…I am working on a cheering project now too, which will be my contribution to the crafty advent calendar!
what a damp walk…i do love her little foot prints left in the sand.
Yes – our feet were damp too!
I’m glad you got to enjoy both the slugging in armchairs and the slogging through damp mists ~ two equally good ways to embrace the dark season.
It is dark! The damp mists and mizzles envelop us seemingly every day, but the comfy chair does too when we return to the Hitty cupboard – usually along with a cup of tea!
My blood has grown thin in this climate. I think it looks rather chilly and damp, but it was probably very bracing and invigorating?
It was more chilly and damp, between storms…walks in the wind are more bracing, but then there are branches falling off trees and stuff blowing around. It is really the season when we feel like huddling indoors but we always feel better after a little air and exercise!
