Going Forth in the Fog
Floradora went up the hill in the fog, passing by the Toadflax…
.
.
…and the Henbit…
.
.
.
…admiring the beautiful purple Aubretia…
.
.
.
…and sniffing the heavenly Grape Hyacinths.
.
.
She gazed about at the geographical marker, but couldn’t see much because of the fog…
.
.
…so she climbed the stone steps…
.
.
…and the metal ones…
.
.
…to the top of the concrete observation platform (left over from WW2), where she was met by a noisy crow.
.
.
Floradora looked North towards the rest of Victoria…
.
.
…South towards Trial Island and the lighthouse…
.
.
…East towards the Salish Sea…
.
.
…and West towards the sunset, however the fog was thicker than ever.
.
.
She made her way home past a little pine…
.
.
…and some brilliant Forsythia…
.
.
…the fog didn’t let up all day, and neither did the foghorns!

Beautiful and Lovely Floradora! I loved all photographs and views… Thank you, the most beautiful Place for me to be with you. Love, nia
Thank you nia – it was quiet and peaceful. The fog has a strange effect on the ambient noise – at once muffling, and accentuating the little sounds – and the Fog Horns!
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
You are welcome! We like the fog – it condenses our surroundings into a different world somehow…we think it is beautiful too.
Floradora’s bright demeanor led us to vibrant floral shout-outs that Spring is indeed blooming. Thanks for the cheer.
It is a strange spring, and has been very wet the last few days. The fog was a surprise! the day after we had thunderstorms! We just have no idea what to expect next, but at least it is truly spring now, those Forsythia prove it once and for all!
even in the fog Victoria is a very nice place to be.
It is – and I feel very lucky, especially to live in a place where there is fresh air in abundance and beautiful places to walk.
in spite of the fog, what a fun trek…so many spring flowers to admire. Floradora is very adventuresome. Are those moccasins on her little feet?
It was fun! Floradora loves the moccasins, which we bought in the Yukon in 2017, before she was carved. Constance thinks of them as a permanent loan!
I have been on walks like that!
The fog is very nice in it’s own way, but I am glad not to be out in the wilderness in it, or out on the water.
No fog, storms and deep snow are best enjoyed from a warm room through a window!
Gosh, that’s some fog, and the steps look terribly bitey!
Yikes, the Teeth…We thought the same thing about those steps!
I love the mysteriousness of fog. I love seeing the Hittys’ adventures!
The Hittys love having adventures and sharing them! We like fog too…and the fog horns and the damp mysteriousness of it all.
