Saturday at the Met
Constance was enthralled during the entire six hour production of the Metropolitan Opera’s Live HD broadcast of Götterdämmerung. She couldn’t believe the time had passed so quickly. She was pretty impressed with all the singing, but especially liked the twinkle in Siegfried (Jay Hunter Morris)‘s eye.
Upon her return to the Hitty cupboard, she riveted the other Hittys with stories of Gods, Heros, obsession and revenge. A shiver went through all the Hittys’ little wooden pegs when she described the ending when mortals and gods all went up in flames. It might take a few days before Constance stops dreaming about the experience.

WOW! I never know what to expect from you!! take care, laura
Constance and I are recovering from the performance, and all we had to do was sit, watch and listen!
Sounds like Constance had a cathartic experience. Her dream sounds wonderfully frightful.
Viewing Götterdämmerung right to the bitter end does rather lead to an Aristotlean Poetic catharsis!
Is that Thor’s head?
It is a Thor Pez dispenser! Constance prefers to think of him as Siegfried, however.
What a fantastic picture. I recognized it instantly. Great work.
Thanks Kat, I’m enjoying your Lego Operas, and love the fact you did one scene with your mom! The Hittys are interested to know their small plastic kin also enjoy opera!
Wow! Thor…ummm, I mean siegfried.. looks really uncomfortable on that pyre but he’s handling it stoically 😀
Seigfried is following a noble tradition – many artists suffer for their Art!
