Happy 200th Birthday
Conctance re-reads her favourite book today – the 200th Anniversary of its’ publication.
Jane Austen is Constance’s favourite Author, and she would rather like to watch the 6-part BBC’s Pride and Prejudice again. Though Colin Firth has never been her idea of a perfect Darcy, she loves Jennifer Ehle as Elizabeth, and David Bamber’s Mr Collins makes her laugh hard enough to loosen her pegs.

Oh…we love Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy. He’s played Mr. Darcy in about three films. But we all have our favorites. I also really loved the Kiera Knightly version…different than the A&E version, certainly, but it had its merits. Tell Constance that I’d like a Regency era dress as well.
All things considered, I think we like the book the very best of all!
One of Mrs. Toad’s very favorite stories, indeed… I have shared in viewing it countless times with her… yes, the Colin Firth one.
Ah well, Colin Firth as Darcy seems to have many admirers. I liked him in The King’s Speech.
Has Constance received her longed for Regency dress yet? She has such a gentle spirit that she may hesitate to ask too loudly for it…. 🙂
Yes she has, we had a Jane Austen Tea Extravaganza complete with costumes, and we are thinking it is time to have another such tea again soon!
