Dalahäst Sleeping Bags
A gift of true love appeared last week – a family member knitted these astonishing Hitty sleeping bags.
.
The Swedish word for Dala Horses is knitted into the inside of the thumbs.

A Hitty fits perfectly into the “sleeping bag”! They are so wonderful!!

How wonderful they are!
They are wonderful! I keep gazing at them in awe!
Stunning work! Why don’t children in the States get to learn stuff like that in school?
My husband learned to knit when at school in Scotland, but knitting didn’t stick with him. I learned at home from my Swedish Faster Anna, and it did. I did teach my kids to knit (the ones that would endure it, that is), perhaps there is a revival happening out there in the fibre world, though.
These are fantastic! I hope its not too hard extracting the Hittys when your hands are feeling cold, or just in need of decoration.
The Hittys do protest when I try and get them out!
Just gorgeous!
Aren’t they!
I wish that I had a beautiful sleeping bag like Rose. Maybe I’ll search for a pattern on Ravelry ..now that I’ve signed up! Sweet dreams of dalahasts!
Would that be glorious!
So warm and comfy – I can see why Rose does not want to get out of her ‘sleeping bag’. I must learn to knit –
that would be exciting.
Five Hittys are sitting on them right now, hoping to hide them from me I think!
