The Quimper Hitty sisters are exploring the beach while Constance is gallivanting in distant lands…

The Vashon Glacial Lobe–I didn’t learn about that in my college geology classes! How cool to have Rose and Linnea show off the work of the Lobe!
Hard to imaging the glaciers hundreds of meters thick on top of the Quimper Hittys’ favourite beach, especially on a day as warm and sunny as this one!
It looks as if a local fog bank is brewing among the rocks to the left. I hope they found their way home in time!
Yes, we often get fog around here, but sometimes it stays over the Strait of Juan De Fuca and plagues Port Angeles and Sequim.
I have not seen this sight before. How amazing to see the bedrock carved by the Vashon Glacial Lobe. Reminds us of the Grand Canyon carved by the Colorado River which is not very far from us. Thank you Rose and Linnea for sharing this wonder with us.
We find that studying geology gives time and landscape a new dimension!
Lovely!
Gracias!
