Noche de Rábanos
It is always exciting when the Quimper Hittys find a new holiday to celebrate…
December 23rd is the night of the radishes in Oaxaca...click here if you don’t believe me!!

Min thinks an entire festival devoted to radish art is the best thing she has ever heard of!!

The Hitty cat wonders if radish mice are spicy…

Fabulous! Who would ever expect that? The little elf and mouse are the cutest ever!
Thank you! Maybe next year I can attempt a radish Hitty!
Totally cute, and what a great festival. The QHs must have been completely thrilled to learn of this celebration.
One has to wonder if this is part of a much older tradition that pre-dates the introduction of radishes to Mexico.
I am not a very experienced radish artist, but when the Quimper Hittys heard about this festival, they insisted on participating.
I am totally impressed…both by the radish art you and Min have created but also by the fact that you KNOW about this festival. I declare that reading your entries is an education. A delightful and fun education!
We like to find interesting things to celebrate – We’ve been to apple harvest celebrations, so why not a holiday for a lowly root vegetable! It is always nice to have a food-related fun time!
Did not know about the Night of the Radishes. So interesting and educational. Min fits right in. She is having a good time.
Min is always ready for fun, though wishing we had giant radishes here like the ones in Oaxaca!
MUM! You were right, this is hilarous!!
A small holiday, devoted to a small vegetable is just what we needed in the bustle before Christmas!
I don’t know how you know all of these things!!! Great radish art!!!
Well when I hear about something interesting, I take note, and then the Quimper Hittys find out and bug me about it!
This is absolutely delightful! What enchanting little sculptures you have created! I am so glad that there are little icons at the bottom of the daily posts, because sometimes I don’t get notifications of posts and then get to catch up by checking the tiny photos with their links to great fun. It took me 3 years to find this one, but it was worth the wait! I love radishes, and now, I love them even more!
We love this celebration! So unique and wonderful!
You have made it even more so!
