Constance, Min, Patience and Rose are having a Baking afternoon…
Egg!
Fannie Farmer’s Sugar Cookies require 1/4 lb butter, 3/4 cups sugar beaten well, add to it 1 tablespoon milk or cream, and one egg….

Vanilla – m-m-m
…then add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. Now in another bowl, mix 1 3/4 cups of plain flour and 1/4 teaspoon baking powder together and add to the butter mixture. Mix it well, and put it in the fridge for a couple of hours.

Heart-Sprinkles
Roll out the dough 1/8 inch thick, cut with cooky cutters, and decorate – Patience and Min have painted the cookies with a little milk and sprinkled candy hearts on top.

Cat’s Eye View
The cookies bake for 15 minutes at 325 degrees F…Rose helps with washing-up while the cat hopes for a stray crumb!

It’s so nice to see the domestic side of these dear Hittys. Thanks for opening the kitchen cupboard so that we can enjoy what the Quimpers are up to there.
They love Baking, and always have appreciative friends to help them eat the results!
Wow, what a lovely lot of cookies, didn’t they work hard making all those, and so lovely to see them busy making them. I love the little sugar cane bag, it is wonderful.
The little cane sugar bag was a kit I found (unstitched) in a charity shop! The Hittys were pretty excited about it – a good supply of Hitty sugar…
It is perfect isn’t it? How wonderful you found it in a charity shop! I always look in them for Hitty and Sasha sized props.
