It was a dark and stormy Saturday with thunder, and drenching rain. Most of the family were busy with other projects so Opal and Agathe decided to go outside regardless of the weather. After all living on the West Coast the Quimper Hittys are not afraid of a little rain, and even have enough raingear to lend some to Opal.
Ross Bay Cemetery
They stayed dry while admiring the wet leaves in Ross Bay Cemetery.
Gonzales Beach
And sat on a log a while, admiring the stormclouds from Gonzales Bay…
Tomato Delight
…It was worth walking all the way to Moss St Market just to stand amongst these beautiful Tomatoes from Haliburton Farm!
Pickle Delight
And to sit amongst the rainbow jars of pickles from Maison Preserves Co…
Hundreds of cats
…House On Fire pottery was selling sweet little cats, and the girls were unable to resist the one with a hopeful and endearing little face…
Flowers!
…and so they adopted it, and brought it home along with a bouquet of fall flowers…it was a worthwhile trip!
And the pretty flowers to bring the memory of sunshine indoors…they thought the cats would be warmer companions than the penguins…though they both like to eat fish.
Opal and Agathe found it hard to choose from among the hundreds of cats, thousands of cats, millions and billions and trillions of cats! They had a great day altogether.
I am glad they did not get drenched, there was a torrent of rain this morning. And, I am glad you could find them among the brightly coloured fruit to help them get home or they might have been packed off to a farm at the end of the day, like so many red and yellow tomatoes!
They were quite camouflaged in the tomatoes, but ended up back safely in their sacks after every photo. The Kitty rode home in a pocket as well, and is trying to make friends with the already existing Quimper Hitty kitty who can’t see the need for another feline.
It surely appears very worthwhile and a color co-ordinated outing for the little dolls.
There is a lot of Yellow and Red about these days! They especially liked the colourful and delicious tomatoes!
a rewarding day after venturing out in the rain. love the cats and the penguins, too.

Oh dear. I hope there are no cat fights. Some cats take a long time to relax with newcomers/interlopers.
Looks like a big load! Good thing they have human helpers.
I didn’t even mention the punnet of Strawberries and the two pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow!!!
What a fun trip and well worth venturing into the rain.
It rains a lot here in the spring, fall and especially the winter! We all have good raingear, even the Hittys!
