Bramble Thicket
Constance and Min went blackberrying!
The thicket seemed extra dense and prickly today!
.
.
but many berries were well within reach of short wooden persons…

Constance and Min gathered a heavy Hitty-sized basket full…
.
.
and they lugged it home together!

Did the lugging home turn into plugging along to get home with that bounty of berries the woodens picked? Glorious episode.
The berries went mostly into the freezer, but some into my breakfast!
Heavenly! Did they eat them fresh or are the Hittys planning on making preserves?
Generally we eat a few right away, and freeze the rest. Then throughout the winter we open little packets of summer deliciousness!
Blackberry pie–yum, yum!! Blackberries here in the Pacific Northwest are small this year. The girls were lucky to find good berries!
This is a very reliable and productive patch! We don’t have to look too far, just keep on good terms with my parents-in-law!
Didn’t they do well? The juiciest berries often seem out of reach for even big people I have found, but especially small wooden peoples… although they can often squeeze in where others can’t
A cane is considered an essential piece of equipment by the in-laws, for pulling down the high up berries, but I find I can usually get enough to cope with within arm’s reach…of course I do have long arms!
ahhh many hands make light work. The girls are of course adorable. Kudos to the girls for their hard work.
as always wonderful photos. Glad the dry weather did not wither the berry patch.
You know what they say about willing hearts and busy hands…and of course if Min is involved it is bound to be fun!
