New Backyard Neighbours
The new neighbours across the hedge have moved in…
…Tatty, Gilly and Carrot Soup went to pay a social call.
The new neighbours seem friendly enough but somewhat limited in vocabulary…
…and seem to want to peck your hands rather than shake them…
…and Gilly thinks their table manners are interesting.

Cool neighbors! Next: eggs? Yeay
There are three people in the human neighbour’s household, and now three pullets, if there are extra eggs at some point, we will be happy to take them off their hands!
That’s what makes Hittys so wonderful. What humans would call terrible table manners, Gilly see as interesting. They see the world without judgements. They teach by example and don’t even realize it.
🙂
Still, Mary Ann might have to take Gilly in hand after this morning’s visit!
Gilly might pick up a few useful phrases in “Hen-Speak”. Won’t that make for some interesting tale-telling?!
So far, Gilly has learned cheep cheep and peep peep…no doubt, cluck cluck will come along eventually, and bawk bawk, and eventually buck, buck bucaw! The neighbours are hoping that cock-a-doodle-doo doesn’t start happening!
Too funny, love the photo of the girls peeking in the window of the new neighbors. Have they named the hens?
Fun stuff!
I think the pale chick is Hedwig, the others are Spot and Stripe!
You know, beings from a different variety of life are going to always be interesting, aren’t they? I think learning hen-speak (as mentioned) might be helpful in securing some eggs…..???
We can always hope!
If the Block Twins spot the eggs, they may be tempted to purloin one to hatch it themselves!
They might! Their crocodile escapade may encourage them to start another eggy adventure!
I hope so…. they are so much fun!
