Friday Bluebells

chomped

The deer graze on the bluebell leaves in the front yard, but for some reason they avoid the flowers..

.

.

Back

The plants in the back yard don’t get attacked by deer, but occasionally get nibbled by bunnies…

.

.

compost

The Quimper Hitty humans have had a big refurbishment of the front garden, which has resulted in a lot of plants being dug up and divided…

.

.

Rescue

…we had many many bluebells – some which were replanted, and some destined for the compost.

.

.

Back

…we moved some of the clumps from the front to the back…

.

.

basket

…and put a few in a temporary hanging basket (we hope they revive in time for Sunday!)…

.

.

Bouquet

…and cut the rest for our Friday Bouquet!

  1. Great to see flowers…we raked and did Spring cleanup all week and ….awakened to 2 inches of snow on the ground this morning. Weather man says we will get more today AND tomorrow!!! So, dear Vanilla, enjoy those blue bells to the utmost!

    • Dear Vanilla is very fond of bluebells – she wishes she could send you some in the mail đŸ˜‰
We are hoping the snow will go away SOON, and you will have beautiful wildflowers to admire in your pretty woods!!

  2. Vanilla, your triumphant smile at the end of today’s narrative conveys to me that there will be a revival of the flowers on Sunday. No doubt your work in both sides of the yard will bring many glorious days of enjoyment as time moves forward.

    • We are enjoying the garden very much these days – and so hoping the deer will leave some of our pretty plants alone…there are some with a very adventurous palate, who seem to delight in eating anything labelled deer-resistant!

  3. How lovely to have the front garden refurbished! And your blue bells!! Oh my…to have too many!! The bouquet is
    wonderful. Happy Friday!!

  4. My mother told me as a child that fairies made lily of the valley and blue bells. They always bring out my inner child…blue bells aren’t too plentiful here but seeing Vanilla tend to them is lovely. The bells match her lovely new blue coat.
