Gluing Boards
Construction on the Hitty’s bathroom continues – the room box was taken apart into flat pieces, then Vanilla helped to mark straight lines on the walls…
.
.
…and Arianell glued down the furring strips parallel to the floor.
.
.
Then they glued the boards on top of the strips perpendicular to the floor…
.
.
…look at the beautiful straight lines!
.
.
Vanilla and Arianell helped to weigh down the boards while they dried, but it made them a bit hungry for toast and jam.
.
.
The bathroom walls will eventually have baseboards and top moulding…
.
.
..but the wainscotting looks good so far!!!

Toast and Jam for the hard-working builders!
Thanks to our Haida friends for the Salalberry jam!

Without a doubt, in my opinion, the QHs live a very rich life. A bathroom that’s starting to come so carefully together as Vanilla and Arianell work in partnership on it, and gifted jam and (Jane’s bread?) to top it off…it is a rich life indeed.
The bathroom is fun to assemble so far, Arianell wondered if jam would stick as well as glue, but the girls didn’t get a chance to try that experiment!
The construction is coming along beautifully! They are very precise workers. So glad they were rewarded with toast and jam!
The girls found the quilting square very useful for marking the lines…Toast and jam was a great reward for them!
So creative. You and your Hittys come up with such special projects. Their bathroom will surly be magazine worthy when finished. Can hardly wait to see it.
The girls are very much looking forward to the “indoor plumbing”…the girls’ goal is to have the finished project not only comfortable and pretty, but functional…they are finding the process very satisfying!
Brava! It’s looking wonderful!
Thanks very much! There is a ways to go yet, but it is fun working on it bit by bit.
what a fancy room box that is going to be. The girls are doing a great job and deserved their toast and jam break! Looking forward to future posts.
Thanks! We will definitely keep you apprised of the progress…what fun!
Hello! I realised in the middle of the night, I’d neither read all this month’s scraphappies, nor copied Kate’s handy list to the end of the blog (the down side of scheduling!) . So first task this morning was to check through the blogs, and I found your name – I’d missed your delightful blog, so I’ve signed up to follow you. I love the character you’ve managed to impart into the faces of these. You are clearly both gifted and skilled. I’m so pleased to have found you. Thank you.
Thank you very much DawnGill Designs, I only just joined the scrappy crew, but I love the idea, and my house is full of scraps of fabric and wood so it works for me. There are a few of my posts with silversmithery in them, which you may find interesting, some of your scrap silver pictures looked familiar!
