Shoes and Shoeless
Viola loves this part of summer…
.
.
…and so does Henrietta…
.
.
…because they like to wriggle their toes in the dirt!
.
.
Abigail and Vanilla’s toes are inside their wooden shoes!
.
.
Vanilla wonders what it would be like to wriggle her toes in the dirt…
.
.
…but Abigail is glad she has shoes on – she is worried about stepping on a worm.
.
.
But shoes or shoeless, everyone agrees that a summer picnic in the shade with doughnuts is perfect!
.
.
I’m a barefoot girl myself… a bit more hazardous Down Under, but still a pleasure!
Luckily there are not a lot of poisonous biting or stinging things to step on around here, although the bees and wasps aren’t fun if you get them accidentally underfoot.
It’s nice that no matter how one’s feet are or are not shod, a sweet picnic eliminates those differences.
indeed yes – a glazed doughnut shared around makes for a sweet summer, preferably washed down with lemonade!
We love this time of summer also. The mornings are already a wee bit cooler. Love seeings the girls out and about. Henrietta’s print dress fabric is precious.
We thought that fabric was just adorable! A friend found it in Alaska! It seems too soon, but the season is turning, we might have to get the socks and shoes out soon for the shoeless ones!
ahhh summer picnic in the shade (with one of the cats) perfect. I am with Abigail…just too many stickery things to step on here in the country!
The cat was intrigued by the mouse on Henrietta’s dress, and disappointed at the lack of cream, but she deigned to grace Henrietta by sitting on her lap for a while!
Oh I Love to go bare foot and feel the grass under my feet.I agree that summer picnic in the shade with doughnuts has to be the most perfect!!!! and a glass of milk !!
