Copper Bracelets for Sitka
Tansy is very lucky – she gets to travel with our favourite photographer when he goes off on archaeological expeditions…
.
.
…and after one memorable project at SGang Gwaay in 2018, she came home with two pairs of copper bracelets made for her by Haida artist Paul Rosang. She has worn one of each pair on her wrists ever since.

Tansy decided to gift the other two bracelets to her new sister Sitka, who is made from an ancient tree in SGang Gwaay that blew down in a storm right after Tansy was there in 2018.

Oh Tansy, Háw’aa so much!
.
.
Sitka’s bracelets will soon develop a nice patina like Tansy’s!
.
.
…but meanwhile raven Xuuya likes shiny things!
.
.
Tansy is happy to have made Sitka happy…
.
.
…and Sitka is very happy!

As always, a beautiful story and two beautiful girls!
Thank you so much, we were so happy to be able to gift Sitka with these particular bracelets!
To be encouraged in and then embrace one’s heritage is a mighty gift indeed.
It means so much to Sitka to have the bracelets that were made in her village while she was still in the tree!
So lovely… bracelets, generous gift, and girls!
It just felt appropriate and right – much better than sitting in Tansy’s box of treasures!
Oh, a truly enchanting story! Thank you!
You are so welcome!
thank you Tansy, for making all of us happy. Beautiful story and beautiful girls. Raven will have to admire the bracelets from afar.
Raven Xuuya certainly has his eye on the shiny bracelets, Sitka is hoping to make friends, but without giving them up, they are so special to her!
how generous of Tansy to share her beautiful bracelets. I remember when she first got them! What adventures she has had over the years. Sitka I am sure will have many of her own in the Quimper Cupboard!
Sitka hopes some day to visit her island of origin – wouldn’t that be a wonderful adventure!?
