Wedding Bells on Sunday Afternoon
Constance is feeling both pensive and excited today…
.
.
She is giving up her household keys for the afternoon…
.
.
…and her work dress…
…and digging in the wardrobe for…
.
.
…her Opera dress!!!

A quick review of the plot…this afternoon we are going to the Opera!
Some neighbourhood friends invited me to accompany them to the matinée performance of Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro!!!
Constance and I are excited because we haven’t been to the opera since spring 2020, just before the Covid pandemic lockdown. We are also a bit pensive because we used to go with our dear old elderly relative who died last year.
This will be different, but we are looking forward to it!

Oh! I’m so glad that you are able to get back to an opera. Within the last couple whatever, I was wondering if you’d been having any chances to go to hear and see one. I trust that you and Constance had a wonderful time together with your friend and am sorry the elderly relative is not there to accompany you. Ahhh….Becky J
What with covid, and dealing with the after-effects of the death of my dear old relative, this was the first time I’ve been able to go “out” to the opera…I do listen to Saturday Afternoon at the Opera on the radio though, not quite the same but enjoyable.
I love peeking in on their little lives. Thank you.
I am glad that you can! We enjoy their little lives too!
Love this! And her dress is lovely, too.
Thanks – Constance has a couple of different opera dresses – this one was the one that “suited” the occasion!
I loved too, Beautiful dress. Thank you, Love, nia
Thank you nia, I know you love different music too! I wish I had a fancy dress like this too, but meanwhile Constance enjoyed being in my pocket, and all dressed up for the opera! Did you know we bought her coral beads in Istanbul?! They have faded a lot but they are still the same beads.
Exactly, dear Hitty Lady, I love music all kind… How nice memories there from İstanbul, and you know I wished to be here with you when you visited İstanbul. Thank you, have a nice day, love and hugs, nia
I’ve been at a fair all weekend with my shinies, and one of the particular joys this year was that the flow of visitors was gentle enough that I could chat. Lots of people creating their own little miniatures, which means I’ve been able to share your blog with them. More joy for the Exeter contingent 😃💜
Oh what fun! I expect you saw all kinds of lovely little shiny things! Thanks for the boost!
Sadly none of them brought even photos, but with luck they’ll be sending me pics on Instagram 😁. The interaction is the best thing about selling at an event
Au recherche du temps perdu… She looks extremely elegant, as I imagine do you, and what a lovely outing for a Sunday afternoon.
It was very enjoyable despite a few pangs. The Marriage of Figaro can’t help but make you laugh if it is done at all well (which it was!). Even the friend who had never been to the opera before enjoyed herself!
so happy to see a new Opera posting. Constance looks quite elegant in her perfect opera frock. I am glad you had a friend to share the joy with.
She loves her Opera frock! You sent her the fabric I think – lucky Constance! We are glad to have been able to see as well as hear the opera again after a hiatus!
