Pip visits the May Apples

climb

Pip shinned up the little Apple tree…

Little

…checked on the little apples…

.

.

Spy

…spied one over on another branch…

.

.

big!

…and went to give it some little Pip-love!

.

.

look!

And look over there…

.

.

Double Joy

…two even bigger little apples…

.

.

Huge

…and a  huge one! It’s been cool, damp and windy, but the apples have been growing delightfully! We’ve been picking aphids and little dark worms off the leaves – the chickadees are helping! This year there are at least ten apples on our four year old Gravenstein apple tree.  I wonder how many we’ll end up with? Hopefully they aren’t wormy!

    • Pip fell out of the tree several times as I was taking the photos, as it was a very windy day! She is so small she bounces, but so intrepid she bounces right back up! The only real danger really is that she will drop down some inaccessible crevice!

  1. I’ll bet that Pip enjoys that jaunt at this time of year to see extended relatives in development. It’s a fascinating process, isn’t it? Our apples are in about the same stage of development also.
