The Hitty’s Camping Adventure

Lavender on the path

Lavender, Carrot Soup and Scarlett went on a backpacking adventure through Strathcona Park!!!!!

.

.

Walk

Part of the time they walked…

.

.

Ride

…and part of the time they rode in the fanny pack along with an emergency poncho and snacks!!

.

.

Boardwalk sign

On the boardwalk part of the trail they saw a sign, (Lavender thought it was funny that the person on the sign was “tripping” over a screw)…

.

.

Details

…but the sign explained that part of the trail would be wheelchair accessible.

.

.

Map

They parked at the top right of the map, and then hiked all the way to Lake Helen Mackenzie where they set up their tents!

.

.

Frost

In the morning there was frost…

.

.

Pancakes

…but they warmed themselves up with pancakes made by smallest human’s dad!

.

.

Safe

Then they put their food away in the food cache, safe from bears!

.

.

Lake Helen Mackenzie

It was a beautiful morning…

.

.

Marshy

…the humans went on a lovely hike…

.

.

Kwai Lake

…they stopped at Kwai Lake for a rest…

.

.

path

…walked farther along the path…

.

.

Lake Beautiful

…and arrived at Lake Beautiful which earned its name a million times over.

.

.

Ouch!

The Humans walked so far that Carrot Soup had to tend to the blisters…

.

.

Tree rest

…and even the Hittys needed a rest after all that adventuring!

.

.

Exhausted

When they got back to camp they were so tired that they lay down…

.

.

Beautiful

…and gazed at the sky.

.

.

Postcards and snacks

What an amazing adventure!

  1. A true adventure! How wise to have Carrot Soup on Blister Duty. The wildness of the wilderness in the Americas is too wild for me; I’d need to sleep in the bear safe along with the vitals.

    • what an adventure!! I was tired just thinking about all that walking. I am sure they all slept well that night. I confess the bear thing might have kept me awake!!
