Mushroom Season
On a damp and chilly first day of fall…
.
…Coriander and Luna found a huge Fairy Ring in the grass…
.
.
…a little stalk of a brand new mushroom emerging from the soil…
.
.
…and a stinking, slimy, slug-gnawed decaying giant mushroom.
.
.
They liked the great big happy mushroom better…
.
.
…and the mushroom clump.

After their fun-gal walk they decided it was time to change into their autumnal dresses and eat chocolate mushrooms!!! Happy beginning of fall to friends in the Northern Hemisphere, and happy spring to the ones south of the equator!

I love the picture of them sitting at that mushroom ‘table’. And the chocolate mushrooms look yummy.
The Mushroom table made them scamper home for tea, with chocolate mushrooms!
The QH household is so delightful! What a luscious end of the adventurous mushroom hunt your pretty little Hitty gals enjoyed. Their little fall dresses are so vivid and sweet on them too.
It was sad to say goodbye to the summer dresses, but the days are getting chilly!
they look so cozy in those sweaters…. and after a walk in the damp and mushroomy woods they get to go home to hot tea and chocolate shrooms!! perfect day.
It was perfect! They were glad of the sweaters, the days are definitely cooling down!
That big old stinky mushroom would have been a tasty cep/porcini if it had been caught sooner, but I agree that in its current state the chocolate mushrooms are by far superior!
Too bad we didn’t see the mushroom sooner – it certainly wasn’t at all appetising when we saw it…but we were quite happy with the chocolate ones!
A mushroom table! What a delightful posts and loved the images!
Hittys only regret was that I hadn’t remembered to bring their thermos of tea so they could have tea at the mushroom table!
That would have made the experience perfect 🙂
