ScrapHappy is a group of bloggers (links below) who post monthly about using up scraps! All genuine scraps are allowed, and any material. Blog posts are published on the 15th of the month – I really love to see what people are doing with bits and pieces saved from the scrap heaps! If you think you’d like to join the group, contact Kate who devised it with a Swedish friend – her blog is the first link below:

  1. I haven’t heard the term ‘unmentionables’ used for ages! Eve looks lovely in her new outfit and certainly much warmer and ready to go out than she did.

  2. oh my goodness, Eve’s new outfit is delightful and I love the bonnet. I’m not showing Bella (my Jenny Barnett doll). I notice Eve has boots and Bella has bare feet – guess I should work on that.

      • Bella’s bare feet are looking a bit uncomfortable and Winter is coming. I am going to experiment with making felt slippers, thank you for Rose’s offer I thought socks for such tiny feet would be difficult.

    • I do love Jenny Barnett’s skill and whimsy, and since I had to put the doll together myself, she really is precious. I enjoy sewing for her, as she has slightly different requirements to my Hittys.

  3. So much more dignified; a fichu, bodice and petticoat only go so far! The colour is wonderful too. I wonder what ‘somebody’ will end up making the jacket and whether it will match the skirt. Working with silk at such a small scale is tricky!

    • Indeed it’s so true that the underthings only go so far in modesty and fashion. Eve was very happy with the choice of silk and the rich red colour. There isn’t any more of it though, I used the entire square to make the petticoat so we shall see what turns up for the jacket. Yes the silk was pretty tricky – I left the edging in place when I sewed the petticoat, the raw silk was very prone to fraying!

      • That’s a very kind thought. I am not actually sure if I could use them, as my scrap collection is already quite extensive…probably more than I can use in my lifetime already! Thanks so much for thinking of it though.
