March to the end
We had a lot of storms in our neighbourhood this month – rain, wind, hail, puddles and mud…
.
.
…and it’s hard to believe that it’s already the end of March. Finally we can actually get out into the garden without dodging all the stormy weather.
.
.
The garden is sprouting up! Fortunately there are raised beds in much of the garden, and some plants in well drained pots, like this Oregano, or else they would be drowned and rotted!
.
.
The garlic avenue is definitely thriving…
.
.
…and we think the elder twigs are still alive…
.
.
…there is no sign of the ocelot flower or greenery (yet) but we are hopeful…
.
.
…and look – the “Chocolate Lily” came back!
.
.
March came in like a lion…
.
.
…and is going out like a lamb!
.
.

I love walking round the garden seeing what has started to grow back and which seeds have germinated. I love the Hitty sheep!
We love walking around the garden too, especially when it is not raining! I am going to have to do a bit of weeding now – suddenly everything is sprouting including the stuff I don’t want!
Yes, the downside of my lovingly sown seeds germinating is all the weeds doing likewise!
love the lions and the sheep, it’s so nice that everything is starting to grow. I think my chocolate lily has disappeared.
The black “lion” is very companionable when I am out in the garden! Too bad about your chocolate lily 😦
The warmer weather and greenery is a welcome sight.
It really is! Also the increasing daylight!!!
so beautiful and so lovely. Thank you, colours fascinated me. Thank you, Love, nia
Thank you so much, nia!
always a pleasure to walk thru your garden and to have such a delightful guide. Love your little Lion and those sheep being herded by sweet HIttys. that chocolate lily is amazing!!!
Spring is such an encouraging time of year, we really are uplifted, by the daylight, the flowers returning, and the chocolate lily and the sheep!!
Wonderful post and images and glad your Chocolate Lilly came back!
The kitty is the lion – ha! Such a cute predator 🙂
We were happy to see the chocolate lily, sometimes you can find them wild around here! And yes, Blueberry is quite the little lion!
Beautiful pictures! Violets are my favorite spring wildflowers. Also one called “innocence” that’s very sweet – almost as much for the name as its delicacy. I’ve never heard of chocolate lilies, so pretty!
Thanks! The Fritillary (chocolate Lily) is one of our favourite spring flowers around here!
