I saw a “largest leek” competition on tv in 1987 when we lived in the UK…growers proudly brining in their prize leeks, so huge they needed wheelbarrows! we were amazed!
It’s maybe too late already for them to attach a small pulley and string to the top end so they can ascend with ease as the sunflower continues its mighty surge to the sun.
A very kind friend gifted me these outfits, made by a late friend of hers. The block twins are happy to frolic in them but requested matching undies so they could frolic more uninhibitedly!
Wow, that’s fast
It seemed fast to us too! Jack-and-the-beanstock-ish even!
I remember ‘tallest sunflower’ competitions!

I suspect that most of the prizewinning veg are inedible otr tasteless but it is a harmless hobby.
WE love sunflowers! It is my favourite flower.
We love them too! Opal and Agathe hope they grow really tall, and develop happy sunflowery faces!

You might be right, but the stems look quite climbable!!!
I love the ladies’ outfits, perfect for sunflower monitoring!
