One plant is 2 meter 4 cm (that is almost 13 Hittys) tall, and busily making a flower!!

The twins were hoping it would be one of the really big sunflowers! They seem to have got their wish!

Hi Kjerstin, we haven’t spoken in so long, although I do keep up with you on Quimper Hitty, hope all is well. I am suffering from a serious case of FOMO after missing the Hitty event in Stockbridge Mass. I just carved for 5 days with Janet and several of the ladies who did attend were there, and if course it only made it worse. Janet thinks she may have the pieces and parts for one more doll, she is going to look when she gets home. Now I am on the hunt for the fabric and a similar pattern. I am sorry I used up every scrap of fabric for that event. I have seen some on etsy and similar sometimes though, you might check there. The fabric was produced by Liberty for the V&A in conjunction with a quilt show in 2010.

Very cool! I really like the photos! Big plants in containers means work 🙂 I’ve had several container gardens and I do like the “control” of pests that comes with it.
We were expecting to have to water it a lot, but it seems we underestimated! But it is very satisfying to see how they are thriving! The plants are right outside our back door, so luckily we notice them and water them often, twice a day at the moment!!
You’ve captured several delightful photos of the twins on their sunflower adventure. The third and fourth photo have me beaming at the delight of it all. They evoke memories of early storybooks when we lived in Ontario.
It is delightful! So much fun for the twins, and there isn’t even a giant at the top!!

So close to opening! Hard working keeping the sunflowers hydrated with their tiny watering cans but they will likely have spectacular blooms when they open!
We have so much watering! twice a day at least….but it is very exciting to see it happen!
Goodness! Those tiny watering cans and those giant sunflowers. Opal and Agathe must be just exhausted hauling water back and forth (I guess they only haul it one way!) I can’t wait for the flowers to open.
Opal and Agathe have enlisted the human to help…we are under watering restrictions so an automatic system wouldn’t be allowed.
All my plants are suffering in the heat and I don’t have enough rainwater stored for everything. I have some dwarf sunflowers but maybe next year I will try the big ones and hope it is less dry.
