This is way more fun than tiptoeing around in a house full of sick Hittys!

Eugenia likes this tree from her homeland – Min and Rose think it is rather spiky.

  1. Is that a Monkey Puzzle tree? I had one once, but it froze during a cold winter. Good thing the girls are all bundled up to stay warm!

    • Yes it is Araucaria araucana, the monkey puzzle tree. There are many of them outside in gardens in Victoria. Perhaps you had an Araucaria of a more delicate species, like Norfolk Pine, which is related, but unable to live outside in our climate. Or was it in a pot? If so maybe the roots froze.

  2. What in interesting group to sneak out the cat door. They must have been thoroughly fed up – I can see Min doing this at a drop of the hat, but Rose and Eugenia seem to normally be a bit more restrained. Looks like they had fun, no wild animal encounters with dogs or crows.
