Apple Pip in February

Pip waiting for Spring

Pip waiting for Spring

February has been wet and windy, and there hasn’t seemed to be anything much going on. Pip has put off climbing the Apple tree until the last possible minute…

Pip has found the buds are turning a little red, so something is going on in the depths of the sap.

A future apple?

A future apple?

This bud is swelling up! Pip us damp and chilly, but encouraged by the signs of life in the big old tree.

We are glad February is almost over, and this morning for the first time we heard the “Cheerio” song of a Robin…spring must be on the way!

  1. First signs of Spring are always something to look forward to – The old Apple Tree is going to be very pretty again, covered with leaves and blooms. Pip is going to be very pleased.

  2. It’s very nice to see that Pip is getting along fine in the apple tree – I had to worry on some of those cold frosty days that things might not be too good for apple Pips.
