Autumn Moon 2014
The tiniest Quimper Hittys came up with a plan to honour the Autumn Moon last night….
.
.
They invited the new neighbours over to celebrate.
.
.
Meg and Peg got hold of a special Moon Cake…
.
.
The little boy was very impressed – so was his baba!
.
.
The little girl was shy but she and Meg are going to be friends…
.
.
Yummy!
The Quimper Hittys wish you a Happy 中秋節 (Autumn Moon)!
.
.

Thanks for keeping us abreast of various cultural events. The Moon Cake looks most interesting…and…the new neighbors are bringing a new flavor to the QH cupboard.
The Autumn Moon festival date changes every year – sometimes it creeps up on me. Luckily I had found a Chinese bakery on my travels and noticed the moon cakes!
I love that the Quimper Hittys have such an interesting group of friends! I wish them a very happy Autumn moon, too!
They do have interesting friends! Thank you for your good wishes!
Amazing moon cake! What a great way to celebrate friendship.
They are amazing, this one is the yellow lotus paste with egg yolk!
the new neighbors look like they will introduce some new ideas and culture events to the Hittys.
I am actually thinking of subsidising their immigration to Ontario, where a good friend will give them a warm welcome!
that moon cake is very interesting…is it more like a bread?? the neighbors all seem quite friendly. Meg is
a cutie and of course they liked her!! Thanks for the information on the Autumn Moon. We were out this week looking at the moon here at the farm. No friendly neighbors(because we have not close neighbors…friendly or otherwise!) but the dogs kept us company.
The Moon cake has a dough, which is put into a mold, and could have various things as filling – this one is yellow lotus paste. The important thing is the egg yolk baked inside, representing the moon!
Chinese Autumn Moon – Very interesting – That moon cake with the yoke inside is something different, Need to check out a Chinese bakery – maybe in China Town.
If your town has a China Town that is the best place for sure!
