Carrot Soup Upsidedown
Carrot Soup has been having a few adjustments…
Her right leg was a real problem. The original hole at the top of the leg was drilled at a slant, so it was filled and a new straight hole drilled. The foot fell off again and had to be re-pegged, and then her hips had to be adjusted. The hole had to be repositioned to fit the height of the leg holes, and the crutch length reduced so she could sit.
A half dozen bouts of sanding alternating with and clear matte spray have occurred…There are a lot of minor fiddles to do and I think her legs will never be quite right, but she is still smiling despite being hung out to dry.

Even upside down, Carrot soup is wonderful! Bet she will bring smiles and cheers to the cupboard!!!! Bravo on this superb addition!!!! Cannot wait to find out what adventures this little one has in store for us!!!!
Thanks! She is nudging me to finish her off, but slow and steady is the way she is progressing. I think I finally have her sprayed and sanded into smoothness now!
Yes, I do see that she is still smiling! Perhaps she will be a very patient sort…
She certainly has a lot of practice at waiting, and is still cheerful, so there is a good chance that she will be!
One wonders about life from that perspective. Our dollies all spend time in that fashion, sap rushing to their heads. Hmmm….
Apparently Flavia DeLuce thinks better standing on her head – perhaps dolls do too?
Can’t wait to see the latest dear heart for the Quimper Hitty Cupboard.
She is having a sort of bumpy emergence, but I am persevering…
All these challenges will certainly make for a loving heart and a great sense of humour. She looks like a true darling!
Thanks Tottie, someday I hope my dolls will meet your dolls!
Carrot Soup is a very patient Hitty, no doubt because she is so eager to become an active family member!
I think so! She will have fun once she gets herself (or I get her) together! I am sure she will be dancing around soon!
Carrot Soup seems to be having some of the same problems that some of my dolls have had. Everybody has adjustments to make in life. love her.
Thank you! It is so true about adjustments in life, we just have to keep going!
I am sure that she will be your most compassionate Hitty….having dealt with all these early infirmities and set backs. And I am also pretty sure she will be one of your cutest!! Even upside down and hung out to dry she is pretty special.
I hope she doesn’t start turning the Hitty cupboard upside down as soon as she gets done, in a kind and friendly and compassionate way of course!
