Brahma Chicks
Tansy wore her special black-and white chicken apron for her audience with a friend’s Brahma chicks…
.
.
The chicks are 6 1/2 weeks old, much bigger than Tansy, and quite unamused with her intrusion into their coop.
.
.
Tansy thought that given their exalted pedigree, perhaps they might need a humble approach and a special offering…
.
.
…such as a few worms perhaps?
.
.
She was first ignored,
.
.
…but kept her head down in a respectful manner as they approached…
.
.
…and was gratified that they condescended to accept the offering!

Tansy as tourist,
Finds a wriggly peace offering,
Peacemakers be blessed.
The Brahma chicks appreciated the offerings, after all, what’s not to like about a plump juicy inchworm? Tansy enjoyed her visit with the chicks.
A ballerina chicken in the last picture, or so it sort of looks.
Luckily it has big feet, and maybe the foot-feathers help maintain balance in some way?
Tansy has good instincts…all it took was a little patience and a big worm.
She wondered if she might be completely accepted if she spent more time in the coop, and collected more worms, but it didn’t seem all that exciting a life for a Hitty.
Tansy is very brave, those chicks look scary.
They appear large and reptilian, but if the truth be known, they seemed to be afraid of her!
Marie Claire is quite approving of Tansy’s approach to the fancy chicks. She is very pleased that Tansy realized she was dealing with poultry royalty and behaved accordingly. And Marie Claire is now parading about the house in her very own black chicken pinny…created by the talented Quimper human.
Tansy was glad to have a special pinafore to wear in honour of her new chicken acquaintances…she hopes she might get invited back some day to visit the flock again! I am glad Marie Claire is enjoying her pinafore too!
Deference is due to most anyone with a beak and an attitude…Well done, Tansy!
Even chicks with little peeps have big beaks – Tansy was rather glad to get out of the coop in all.
What a fun photo story. I’d say Tansy went the extra mile to get these pics.
She Definitely did! Bowing and scraping does not come naturally to her, but these were very regal chickens!
