Another Provençal Quilt
Constance helped choose fabrics for a new quilt made with Provençal fabrics…

We are making up an 18-month quilt called “Shades of Grey”, one block a month…but we thought so many greys would be too much like the west coast winter we have been experiencing. Instead of dark greys, light greys and blue, we are using Provençal fabrics in red, yellow and green.
The human is having a problem after sewing so many Hitty quilts – these blocks seem very large and unwieldy. However Vanilla likes them Constance and says just wait a bit and it will all work out…stay tuned!

This is going be an other beautiful quilt! Looking forward to following their progress!
We like the colours and combinations – the patterns are interesting, and It should be fun project! We are excited to do one block a month, and watch the quilt top grow…
Vanilla has jumped right into all the Hitty textiles. The reds, green and yellows are a cheerful relief from our grey skies.
Yes! We thought shades of grey would not at all fit with our taste and have been wanting to use these fabrics for a long time!
beautiful colors. I think your choices are inspired!! So glad you have such talented and dedicated helpers.
We are partly inspired by a short stack of leftovers from out first Provençal quilt…and just because the colours are rich and lovely, and not grey!
I think these two quilts are gorgeous. Love the colors, the block size, and the fabric. Vanilla and Constance should be very proud of these gems.
They are proud, and glad to be helping. We love the colours too – and are having fun putting the pieces together. I think a long project like this will be very satisfying.
Of course, I love the Provençal prints and colors! What a good choice for your quilt. Yes, an 18″ block would look gigantic compared to Hitty quilts, but it appears that you and the dolls have done a spectacular job of it. I’ve looked up the pattern-it looks fun. I’ll be eager to see the outcome.
The thing I like about the pattern is that every block is a bit different. I am not completely happy about the amount of wastage that the technique requires, but it will be a fun project…
