The Sun and the Serpent
The Sun is up!
.
.
.
.
…and the Sunbirds are singing!
.
.
Vanilla is sitting with the kittens!

It was a beautiful day for a bike ride…
.
.
Vanilla was riding, but she did not notice the serpent!
.
.
The serpent followed her all the way home!
.
.
Vanilla fed the kittens their milk and the serpent joined them too!

All is peace in the Hitty cupboard. But snakes scare me.
Perhaps Vanilla was thinking of the original Hitty, who spent some time as the colleague of a giant cobra and a snake-charmer!
A friendly serpent is nice to have. I’m not overly fond of snakes but if it’s friendly I let it stay. Some of them are very good to have around.
I believe some snakes are excellent at pest-control…not that we have any pests in the Hitty cupboard since Mungo lured the rats and mice out with his bagpipes a few weeks ago
what a colorful little guy…I must say your kittens are much friendlier then my cats are with them! My barn cats have been known to harass any snake that comes along. I have even rescued a couple of little snakes from the felines. Fun story for Vanilla…a sunny day, an outing and a cozy home!
The sunny morning was the most memorable part of the day…we were glad that the youngest human taught us to listen to the sun birds singing!
I give a nod to Vanilla for including the snake in with the treat for the kitties (and, as an aside, I don’t think I would have done so)….and the littlest human for leading in this direction. It seems this was a most friendly serpent.
PS…love the sunshine and sunbirds! Littlest human has portrayed them oh so nicely.
We have never seen snakes and cats drinking milk together, but interesting things happen when the youngest human is around! We think she is a kind soul and a good influence.
it’s always fun with the Quimper Hittys but especially fun when youngest member joins in. Nice to see all the critters living in harmony.
We think it is fun too, and like going to the places her imagination takes us!
