Soggy March Afternoon
March weather is unpredictable in Quimperland – sometimes nice and sometimes damp…
.
.
…today it was absolutely wet.
.
.
The lovely lupine leaves collect a big raindrop in the middle, and tiny pearls along the edge…
.
.
…and spidery little grape hyacinth leaves are protecting the flower cones, just emerging into the showers of rain.
.
.
Oh dear – Henrietta lost a button…
.
.
…but Floradora found it in amongst the mound of new dianthus leaves.
.
.
They dashed back through the dripping Hellebores to the cupboard…
.
.
…and Henrietta stitched the button back on.
.
.
Here too.
Well…rain. Necessary, but sometimes inconvenient. I am glad at least that the torrents of a wet west coast winter are subsiding!
I like that thoughtful ending and hopeful, pretty jaunt.
The wee green button will be invisible in a month or two…we are glad to have found it, and stitched it on tight!
Gosh, love the brilliance of Henrietta’s coat. She won’t get lost easily in the garden!
That raincoat used to be a blown-out umbrella, that flew into our yard once upon a time! We knew just what to make of it!
Scraptastic!
I love seeing the lovely new growth and the delight of the 2 little friends taking a soggy walk!
The new growth is so encouraging…we are heartened!
Raining here also. I encourage our Woodens to go outdoors but they prefer dry weather. I enjoy going out in the rain. The colors seem more vibrant in the rain or mist. I’m glad Henrietta found her button.
That is so true about the rain saturating the colours – hooray for rain! And hooray for finding the button – it is only decorative, but still…
Lots of rain here…my girls and I are very admiring of the lovely raincoats worn by Henrietta and Floradora Almost
makes a walk in the rain desirable! (we are also having a lot of rain…torrents of rain!!)
So much rain…here we say “at least the reservoirs will be full this year”…trying to keep remembering the positive.
