Dirt
Vanilla and Tipsy inspected the enormous pit in the back garden…
.
.
…they spotted Tansy grubbing around in the bottom.
.
.
Tansy showed Tipsy how to manoeuvre down the ladder (made out of leftover fence bits)…
.
.
…and the two of them mucked about in the bottom of the pit for a while.
.
.
Vanilla preferred to go see how the raspberries were doing.
.
.
Jane is doing extra laundry these days.

Has Tansy found any more interesting artefacts in the enormous pit?
Tansy found two pieces of broken glass so far…the pit is half dug, so there may be more interesting treasures yet unearthed!
Its so nice to see Tansy again. She’s another favorite of mine. ( Actually, I’ve never met a Hitty that I didn’t love.) Tipsy coming down the ladder is adorable.
Tansy has been missing her summer Archaeology projects, digging in the garden seems to be a balm to her frustrated soul. Tipsy thinks it is all great fun!
What is Tansy hoping to find, something exciting I hope.
I am not sure what Tansy thinks she is going to find – I rather think she is keeping her Options open like a good Archaeologist! I hope she will find that a nice little vegetable patch is the result of her excavating (with the help of our favourite photographer!)
My goodness, Jane is as modern as a doll her age can get! Look at that washing machine…
Jane was thrilled when I fixed up that “Little Miss” doll’s washing machine for her – a great labour-saving device and much easier on her than the scrub-boards she had been using up till then!
Is Tansy investigating a midden, or searching for the remains of the fabled Dyouthinkesaurus?
Tansy thinks you may be right about the Dyouthinkasaurous being buried in our back yard…Our tame archaeologist was very careful to determine the absence of a First Nation midden before digging up our garden.
Oh my, poor Jane! The girls are lucky to have the hard working laundress to keep them sparkling clean! I was very happy to see Tansy busy and keeping her trowel sharp! That certainly is some black dirt! Any pit dug in my yard would require pick axe to get thru the rocks!
A couple of my Hittys would think that an afternoon with a pickaxe would be delicious fun, not Tansy however…she prefers the paintbrush and trowel approach to digging. Of course that does take an age…I hope she gets it out of her system before it is time to put in the veggie starts.
what hard working girls and they do laundry as well !!
