Holly 2
Holly’s body and arms are ready, except for final sanding and painting – moving on to legs now. Young human has requested bare feet so she can be as adventurous and have as much fun as Floradora and Henrietta…

She can’t wait to be a real doll!!

It’s always delightful to see your new Hittys come to life. Holly looks like she’ll fit right in with the fun that the Quimper Hittys share.
It was fun to carve with young human looking on…Holly is wrapped and under the tree now!
She’s charming! This is going to be the best Christmas present ever for your granddaughter!
I know that young human will love and take good care of Holly, especially nice that it was a specific request and that I could comply!
Holly is coming right along and already looking rather jolly! Can’t wait to see her when she’s finished. Judith

Young human’s rhyme:
Holly Holly, she is jolly, sat by the wall-y but it was very tall-y. Holly Holly forgot her brolly, so she took the trolly and went to the mall-y.
What a very sensible Youngest Human you are going to be with on your future adventures, Holly.
Bare feet are a dream for us. It would be so wonderful to take off our boots in the house and, as for bed time, we do feel a little silly as we slide into bed in our nightgowns and black, calf length boots!
What a joy it would be to sit by the fire in a pair of soft, pretty slippers. But no matter, we do have some other lovely home comforts and are counting our blessing this Christmastide.
Merry Christmas dear,
Love from Mary and Roberta N-Q-H xxxxx
PS,Our Youngest Person baked his first solo batch of mince pies today, the only help he needed was in putting them in and taking them out of the oven, which he is still far to young to do alone. We were a little worried after, as he polished off what was left in the jar with a tea spoon and there was a strong smell of brandy coming from it. I think perhaps he was handed the wrong jar by Grandpa, but he seemed to suffer no ill effects.

Goodness what an accomplishment! Coincidentally we were also baking mince pies, in between wood chips and sand paper…our young human had her nose in the jar, but didn’t polish it off, thankfully! We have become partial to bare-footed wooden dollies, of course it means a lot of sock-knitting, but we quite enjoy it!
Sound it would be so exiciting dear Hitty Lady, beautiful photographs as always. Thank you, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and to your family, Love, and Hugs, nia
Thank you so much Nia, I didn’t think I would be carving another doll in 2021, but I couldn’t deny the sweet request from my granddaughter.
Love that youngest human has requested a barefoot Holly Hitty. I look forward to seeing her.
Little Holly is wrapped and boxed and under young Human’s tree. It was a bit of a rush at the end to get her done – so no great photos, but I hope and expect we’ll be seeing her again soon!
she is going to be beautiful, can’t wait to see the dress fabric 🙂
Thanks! Holly is wearing a green knitted dress that I made a while ago…luckily she doesn’t mind hand-me-downs!
Holly has a wonderful enigmatic smile! Can’t wait to see her final face emerge.
Some dolls are hard to photograph…she may be one of them. But as long as young human likes her nothing else really matters.
Holly will have so many adventures with the small human and you!
She will – I am looking forward to it!
