Baby Leeks
We bought some leek starts…
.
.
…dibbed a row of little holes six inches apart…
.
.
…and dropped a tiny leek into each one!
.
.
Then we poured water down the holes…
.
.
…and took a break to admire our work…
.
.
…grow, leeks grow.
.
.
Nurturing, sunshine, rain and patience pay off, don’t they?
Today we are especially happy about the sunshine! It finally feels like things might grow now after a very soggy, windy and chilly start to the spring.
I see Perdita is very serious about her planting. She has all her gardening equipment at hand. Her rake, shover and watering can. It’s lovely seeing her again.
Perdita is very happy shoving the leek plants, and a wee sprinkle of dirt back into the leek holes!
correction oops shovel
🙂
Always good to lie down in the grass 😉
It is, and the dirt, and in the outdoors generally where possible! The wee trowel is getting lots of use as you can see!
I do see. And it brings me great joy. Thank you.
oh lovely leeks! And a lovely HItty gardener. That sure is some fine looking garden soil!!
We topped up the vegetable garden with a lovely mix called Sea Soil…it is very nice and keeps the garden from drying out too much.
