Cream Tea
Jane made scone dough…
.
.
…and Mormor fired up the oven!
.
.
Together they made a nearly perfect scone!
.
.
All it needs is for the pieces to be cut in half…
.
.
…a generous spoon full of Devon Cream plopped on…
.
.
…and raspberry jam on top – that is a perfect scone!
.
.
Add a big pot of tea…
.
.
…a Heavenly Cream Tea in the Quimper garden!
.
.
Those scones with the fresh cream and raspberry jam look so yummy – The pot of tea with the ‘warmer’ tops it all – thanks for sharing !
Ta, Marilyn – the tea cosy was crocheted by a Hitty friend – isn’t it perfect!?
you have made me very hungry for something baked and sweet. Since I do not have Mormor here I shall have to do something myself! Sweet story indeed.
Mormor would happily send you a scone, but it might resemble a rock cake by the time it got to you…how about the recipe?
What a treat! I love their teacosy. Mine are full by comparison.
Their tea cosy is special – made by a friend and perfectly-sized for their rather ample teapot!
What a very lovely tea time for the dear QHs. Thanks dear little ones for this satisfying glimpse into your wonderful little world. It is pretty and cozy and oh so heart warming.
The Quimper Hittys take advantage of any excuse at all to have a tea party, and I am happy to abet them…especially when Devon cream is involved!
I think I missed the tea party 🙂 So beautiful and seems so delicious too… Thank you, Love, nia
We love tea parties – big and small!
I love you call clotted cream Devon cream. That should settle the cream/jam first debate!! (for those who are blissfully ignorant of the great scone debate…. https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/food-and-drink/queen-scones-jam-cream-what-goes-first-debate-cream-tea-outrage-a8260686.html)
Here in our town we can buy little pots of cream, called English Double Cream, however there is a red prize ribbon on the bottle, which says Devon Cream Company. After peering closely at the label, however, I see that it is produced in Wiltshire…? The Quimper Hittys are not bothered by the order in which the jam and cream are spread on the scone, as long as there is enough for all!
haha!!
