Chicken Apron
A Hitty friend gave me four small embroidered cloths which were worn and stained.
.
.
I washed, oxycleaned, boiled, and pressed them…
.
.
…and I cut one into pieces!
.
.
I turned one little chicken cloth…
.
.
…into one little chicken apron.
.
.
I might make slightly less ridiculous bretelles on the next apron…Henrietta looks like she could fly away!
.
.
I’ve noticed that when roosters give out a warning to hens that danger is near, the hens spread out their wings and skeedaddle off to safety. Your darling little apron and it’s charming bretelles sparked that tucked away observation.
That’s an interesting observation! Henrietta likes the idea that the hens skedaddle off to safety!
This is adorable. And if she wants to fly away, why not? She’s lovely.
she just might fly away – at least now she has the means!
ADORABLE! You’re so clever!! I doubt the other cloths will go to waste. I’m sure your other girls are going to want one, too!♥♥♥
the other cloths are in the process of becoming aprons as I write!
oh, my goodness! She looks like an angel.
she does! I am inspired to make a Christmas angel outfit!
What a great use of a once sweet napkin! Those rooster is so beautiful, his 3D stumpwork look gives a lovely feel to apron.
I love the way this one turned out! There is a second one completed, slightly differently shaped (narrower bretelles and less gathering on the skirt…a third one will have to be adjusted again (shape altered or else a patch made)because of a worn through area…it is fun!
beautiful!!! The perfect apron for Henrietta..and those ruffles are lovely! Hitty Marie Claire is very impressed with the skills of Henrietta’s human! Me too.
Dear Marie Claire, she is always so encouraging of my poultry-related efforts!
What a marvelous transformation! I suspect that Anne of PEI would approve of the exuberant bretelles.
Anne with an “e” indeed would have loved the wild wings of this apron!
