Knitting in January
You might think that after many sweaters, elf hats and socks, Rose might want a break from knitting, but instead she has started knitting a scarf…

…and I am making some inroads on a lovely ball of purple wool from Halifax Nova Scotia, which I got from my dear young human and her dear parent for Christmas! After I finish the ribbing, I’ll add in other similar weight yarns from Scotland in a Fair Isle pattern…

the variegated purple is lovely and Rose’s colours are pretty too. Oh no, kitties can leave a tangled mess.
The Hitty Kitties are slightly better behaved than the human’s ones…I have various snarl-prevention techniques but they don;t always work!
Beautiful purple, and I also very much like the green at top left. It reminds me of yarn my mother knitted into a sweater for me when I was about 6. I’ve never been able to forget it: a colour I can only describe as ‘hazel’, a mixture of dark green and brown, with tiny threads of lighter green and gold through it. I’ve looked all my life for more of the same, but never found it. My holy grail of yarn, I suppose…
Oh! I wish I had enough of that to knit you a human-sized jumper! The purple is glorious – I like the way it is turning out in this hat!
Looks like you and Rose have got a basketful of colorful, knitting resources to keep you satisfied for some winter pleasure. Enjoy! Becky J
It has been stormy, followed by a very deep freeze, so knitting has been just the thing! The Human hat is coming along…see Quimper Hitty on Ravelry for the progress.
Rose and her Human are so talented and industrious….looking forward to seeing their completed projects….with cold weather bearing down on us this seems a great to be knitting by the fire.
It is just right for knitting by the fire – Rose and I agree on that! The cats too!
Cats are always eager to help lol
For sure – no matter what the project, they like to be right in the middle of it!!
Yarn and kitties, what a temptation mix! It’s like a clown in a big shoe factory!
The cats like anything stringy!
