November Knitting
Floradora loves the red yarn that I bought at the Nordiska Museet in Stockholm.

The yarn came as part of a kit with a pattern and a long needle to do “Magic Loop” knitting! We used a different pattern called “Stockholm” which we found on Ravelry. It’s in Swedish so I had to translate…

…here they are being blocked on my glove-stretchers – aren’t they great!?

We are also working on a Christmas Stocking from the Arne and Carlos 2025 knit-along…

they gloves look like they will fit nicely. I’ve never heard of magic loop knitting and definitely couldn’t do the translation. Another Arne and Carlos knit-a-long, it looks like fun (they always do) I think they are too complicated for me.
My phone does a great job at translating the words – but the technique took some puzzling-out. I actually knit the left glove twice to make the pattern work out, and I don’t think I have completely figured it correctly, but oh well! As you say they fit beautifully and are very warm! This was my first ever “Magic Loop” knitting! I had to figure that out too – never a dull moment around here!
That’s a gorgeous cranberry red, and the gloves look lovely. I hope they keep you beautifully warm and cosy in the coming cold.
The rich red is very warming – not to mention the cosy wool, and also the memories of finding and buying the kit in the museum in Stockholm! Triple happiness!
goodness there is sush a lot of beautiful things being created in the Quimper household. those mitts are gorgeous,, that color is so rich. I can hardly wait to see the stocking as it grows from your needles!
The Christmas stockings are so beautiful and complicated-looking, but with only six rows a day to knit, it is not overwhelming! I love the mitts too – and that colour!
I love the colour!
We love it too! We saw several of these kits in natural greys and whites – but the red was the one we took home with us!
Floradora must be very agile to handle those knitting needles and work on that Christmas stocking! 🙂
I can use all the help I can get!
