Janeites
The Quimper Hitty Human found a set of Jane Austen books, printed by Chiltern Press…
.
.
…with beautiful covers, sewn signatures and font I can read!!
.
.
Some eye trouble has been keeping me mostly away from the computer and reading for a little while, but like Mormor I can now reach for my favourite Jane Austen book…
.
.
…and sit down with it to read for a spell…
.
.
…it’s so nice to spend time with old friends…
.
.
…Mormor and Constance both agree!

Reading is another passion of mine and believe it or not my go to books are Enid Blyton’s kids books. I have a few boxed sets of her books and avidly read them when I was little… it has not lost its charm and when I’m in between work & babysitting and quilting and cooking and entertaining my ‘quiet’ is in these books … 📚
I devoured shelves of those books at the little library in the small town I lived in as a child…there is definitely something nice about sitting down with a favourite old book/friend.
I am sorry that you have been having problems with your eyes. I hope that the issues will clear up quickly and easily and that all shall be well as soon as can be! ❤
The eye thing is progressive alas. This is just a new stage I am trying to accustom myself to. All things shall be well
Sending love
Thank you – very much appreciated!
I wished to live in this lovely library. Beautiful dear Hitty Lady, Thank you, Love, nia
Thank you – they are beautiful books, I love to read them whatever they look like but there is an added pleasure in reading a book that is nice to look at and to hold!
sure I am one of them too, I love books open the pages and as you said holding in my hands.. You are welcome, Love, nia
Beautiful!! We have recently discovered the joys of making tiny little books too. We made tiny copies of the Luke Walker books for our action figures, they are so cute!!
I bet Luke likes having his own little biography to read when he is not busy fighting the dark side!
Hahaha, definitely!! 😀
What a marvelous find …and so beautifully bound. It is indeed lovely to spend quiet time with dear literary friends. And I do love Mormor rocking and reading.
She loves to read and so do I!
I’m sorry to hear about the eye trouble. Not being able to read or use screens must be very limiting and some fonts are harder than others. Finding much loved books in a helpful text is great.
That is an amazing set! It’s good to take breaks from the computer screen and read instead. I love Mormor’s face, you instantly trust her looking at that warm and kind face 🙂
Thanks, Mormor is one of my favourite dolls, for just that reason, and because I made her to look somewhat like my Swedish Great Aunt who I loved.
