Desdemona
You can tell it is definitely October around here! The Mountain Ash berries are perfectly ripe and just waiting for the Cedar Waxwings to come and strip them from the tree…
.
…and the Michaelmas Daisies are blooming!
.
.
Spiders and spiderwebs abound…
.
.
…everywhere in the garden…
.
.
…and it’s time to plant spring bulbs! Constance and I couldn’t resist this operatic-sounding narcissus.
.
.
We dug a deep hole with our favourite Hori-hori knife…
.
.
…sprinkled a bit of bone meal into the hole…
.
.
…and tucked in the bulbs, and covered them over with soil.
.
.
We hope they will be a beautifully operatic burst of white in the dark days of late winter. The feline Garden Assistant helped as usual!

I’ll look forward to seeing “Desdemona” in late winter. No doubt it will bring cheer.
