Seed Head

Agathe and Opal put the sunflower heads outside on sunny days to dry and loosen the seeds, and brought them in every night to keep the critters away…

…until they were dry enough to rub the seeds out.

it was time-consuming but fun to get each seed out…

…and even more time consuming to open up the seed husks!

But they discovered the joy of working together…

…the the satisfaction of a bowl full of sunflower seeds that they worked hard for…

…and hope for the future!

Volunteer!

And a little tomato has ripened on the volunteer plant!!
