Blackberrying
Patience and Hattie inspired some of the Quimper Hitty sisters to mount a blackberrying expedition. All the girls put on their work aprons and collected their collecting baskets…
.
The humans were somewhat disappointed – Blackberry season is almost over and they hadn’t had time to go blackberrying yet this year! The Hittys were perfectly satisfied though, it doesn’t take many blackberries to make a bountiful Hitty harvest.

Hattie was interested in a fly pretending to be a bee on a late blackberry blossom.
.
.
Patience had a smallish basket and filled it up quickly.
.
.
Gracia’s apron was too elegant for the blackberry patch, but she amused herself picking flowers.
.
.
Constance was distracted by a tiny patch of very late wild strawberries, and collected them using the Finnish Method.

The QHs sure are good at tracking down end-of-season berries. I hope they had a suitably delicious feast.
Berries appear whenever Constance is around…they were particularly delicious on the birthday cheesecake!
I just loved these pics!! The girls are so charming in their “work” aprons with their lovely baskets. Thanks for sharing such a good time with us.
The girls are not afraid to put on their aprons and roll up their sleeves…they love to help – even picking flowers is helpful!
What delicious berries and love those bonnets and aprons. The girls are really having fun !!!
Hattie likes bonnets and hats because of her name, and this one in particular because it matches her dress! Mary Ann thinks it is immodest to appear in public without a hat…We all had fun even though there weren’t many berries left from a human point of view.
Loveliness in so many artful ways again….the Quimpers are so elegantly presented. Thank you.
You are welcome – we all had purple fingers at the end of the day!
