Tansy Travels East
Tansy has recently returned from China! A Hitty friend invited her along to a conference in Hong Kong, followed by a short trip to mainland China. Tansy is always keen to expand her knowledge, meet interesting people and experience culture in different places. As a well-seasoned travelling companion, she jumped at the chance to ride along! When they finally arrived after many hours of travelling, Tansy wasn’t sure what time it was, or even what day it was! She spent some hours in her sleep sack recovering her equilibrium!
In the morning she was completely revived, and ready to admire the spectacular view!

Tansy and her travelling companion stayed with friends in Kowloon, and commuted to Hong Kong for the business part of the trip.
The 2014 International Institute for Conservation Congress offered a wonderful variety of papers and posters about Conserving East Asian Works of Art and Heritage. It was attended by Museum professionals from all over the world.
The views from the ferry were so interesting – and commuting by ferry is fun!

After hours and hours of meetings, Tansy very much enjoyed playing with her new friend …

…who very thoughtfully created a Hitty-sized Ballerina so Tansy could have some company her own size,
…and then made a Tansy-sized laptop so she could check her emails.

Isn’t that ballerina and laptop the sweetest thing 🙂 I love how Tansy is promoting play and interest wherever she goes. What a wonderful trip for her indeed.
Tansy was overjoyed to have a chance to play with a little girl, especially one who was so thoughtful and creative.
The QHs are amazing. I find it fascinating to learn of world news from a blog about the adventures of wooden dolls. Thanks for keeping us posted…we’ll await your next e-mail, Tansy, from that well-provided-for-you laptop!
If only more dolls could communicate – what amazing things we would find out! We do enjoy the adventures of dolls in Diary of a London Doll, and Hitty- Her First Hundred Years, and the Rumer Godden books…
I love that Tansy has inspired yet another dollmaker! How wonderful!
Hittys seem to be very good at inspiring creativity!
That was quite an extraordinary adventure!
Yes! Tansy is brave and daring!
Ahhhh Tansy the world traveler!! Surely there is a position like Head of State in Tansy’s future. Loved the pics of her new friend. Such a thoughtful friend. Hope the conferees return to their home museums with great information and plans.
It was a wonderful trip, they are both still talking about it!
