The Barber of Seville
This morning, Constance and her human went to the Live in HD broadcast of Il Barbiere di Seviglia…
.
It was delightful fun to hear the lovely music and singing, especially the lovesick count and adorable Rosina, laugh at the silly Bartolo and his bumbling servants, observe the civilsed behaviour of the (real live) donkey, and admire the machinations of the roguish eponymous Barber!
Constance came straight home to a snack of toast and home made Seville Marmalade!

hope Constance doesn’t get marmalade on her musical dress, love the gold rick rack at her wrists. What a treat, and a real live donkey no less.
This is her favourite Opera-dress, and we are grateful to the Hitty friend that sent us the fabric! We are also very fond of judicious use of rick rack!
The COuntry Hittys always enjoy the reports by Constance on Opera. We listened to this same opera on the
NPR station today. Did not get to see any donkeys…live or otherwise!
Ah, we thought it possible the Country Hittys might have access to a donkey, but in any case, we are glad you enjoyed the music on the radio!
Constance loves operas and we come to know so much because she shares her experiences with us. We have listened to music from The Barber of Seville. but could not see the Opera/Play. The toast with marmalade looks delicious – Hope she is having it with a hot cup of tea.
Oh yes, Constance thinks tea is the perfect accompaniment to toast and marmalade (and Opera)!
Lovely to read one of Constance’s opera reviews again. Just love her dress as well. It is just perfect.
A Hitty friend sent us the musical fabric, and today Constance wore her new polka-dot ribbon, sent by another Hitty friend!
