    • We love this day! I ordered two books for my granddaughter in honour of the day, but they didn’t arrive in time 😢 did you notice the lovely quilt Rose and Gilly were sitting on?

      • I hadn’t, but so nice it is being enjoyed. My first quilt book was called “you can sit on my quilt” and that is the philosophy I run with.

  1. The adventures and capers of the Quimper Hitty’s make for the most endearing read ever. They are as unique as the beloved Dr. Seuss characters and Charles Schultz “Peanuts” gang.
The QH’s individual personalities and antics accompanied with the sweet expressions on their faces, their humorous, gentle, amusing and loving natures incorporates all of what successful prized children’s book have.
I have come to love each and every one of them…and can hardly wait to see how the block twins are coming along with little crockette.
This entry with Rose reading to Gilly is beyond precious. I didn’t know about this day celebrating children’s books. I am celebrating you for bringing out the child in me and all the fun that goes with being a kid again. Thank you.

    • The Block Twins are scheming in another part of the cupboard at the moment, we just get so much pleasure out of doing the blog, it is multiplied by the friendly and encouraging comments – thank You!

  2. Always a joy to see Gilly and Rose….seeing Gilly in Rose’s lap is precious. For all who read to the little ones
    I salute you!
You may have tangible wealth untold
Caskets of jewels and coffers of gold
Richer than I you can never be
I had a Mother who read to me.
